A few scans from the Tio Patinhas number 580 (October 4, 2013), apublished in Brazil by Abril, by Francesco Artibani (script), Paolo Mottura (art), and Mirka Andolfo (coloring). It’s a (loose) retelling of Moby Dick with Scrooge McDuck filling in the Ahab role, hunting to recover the lucky dime he lost when a great white whale destroyed his ship long ago.
The main reason I posted this is the art itself. Its gorgeous, especially the use of color. It wouldn’t work well in Something*Positive but I’d love to be able to color like this.
(edit) You’ll notice, in some places, there’s bleed-over from the art on the opposite page. The Brazilian comics I received in the mail are all on newsprint, something I haven’t seen in ages. Still, the comics are pretty quality. I also feel a little better about the catalog printing I use to print Super Stupor comic books.
also, reminder he named his ship “Dora Cintilante” (Brazilian for ‘Glittering Goldie’)~♥
